Own Smart, Live Anywhere

For @moyesmoves · from Emilie at Jade

Own smart.
Live anywhere.

Helping Colorado's adventurers, travelers, and future expats make real estate decisions that support the life they actually want.

The idea

You don't have to love houses.
You have to love the people.

The thing that lights you up is freedom: living with a Balinese family, studying in an ashram, designing a life around where you want to be next. Most people want that and assume it's out of reach. Real estate is one of the few tools that can actually fund it.

So the niche isn't Lafayette. It's Colorado as a home base: owning in a way that pays for the life you want, whether you stay three years or leave next spring.

Who this is for

People who think ownership isn't for them

Denver is full of people on a clock. Most of them rent by default because they assume buying only works if you stay forever.

Pilots & flight crew

DEN is a major hub. Bases change, schedules are flexible, and a lot of crew already live a travel-first life.

Military families

Orders move them every few years. Buy, live in it, keep it as a rental when they PCS.

Contract & remote workers

Here for a project or a season, with no plan to put down roots.

Future expats

Homeowners who want to use their equity to fund a move or a year abroad.

Proof is the whole pitch.

Investment claims without numbers push people away. Every "this could make you money" post needs a real case study or a clearly labeled scenario: purchase price, payment, rent, appreciation assumptions, and what happens if you sell in year 2, 3, or 5. Run the numbers with a lender so they hold up, and keep local short-term rental rules in mind (Denver only allows STRs in your primary residence).

Four repeatable series

Simple formats.
Pointed at this.

Two formats carry all four series: clean text carousel covers and short reels with a caption over a photo. Most of these can be made from your laptop, without touring a single house.

Educational · the math

Would you buy it?

Break down a real or hypothetical property as short-term ownership or a future rental. Show the actual math, every time.

Personal storytelling

The freedom lifestyle

Lessons from seven years abroad and from designing a life that doesn't revolve around one location. This is where your personality lives.

Educational · decisions

Home base or forever home?

When buying beats renting for people who expect to leave Colorado, and when it doesn't. Saying "rent" sometimes is what earns trust.

Practical scenarios

Your next move

Practical options for homeowners planning to relocate, travel, rent out, or sell. This is the series that turns followers into clients.

The rhythm

Three posts a week. That's it.

MondayWould you buy it?

One property, one set of numbers. Batch four of these in a single sitting each month.

WednesdayFreedom lifestyle

A story, a lesson, a photo from abroad. The post people share.

FridayHome base or next move

Alternate weekly. Practical, saveable, ends with a reason to DM you.

Before you go all in

Test it, then build it to travel with you

i.

Run a 30-day test

Post 12 pieces across the four series. Track saves, shares, and DMs, not likes. The series that starts conversations is your lead.

ii.

Talk to five real people

A pilot, a military spouse, someone who moved abroad and kept their house. Ask what stopped them from buying. Their words become your hooks.

iii.

Build one case study

Yours, a past client's, or a clearly labeled scenario. One strong example of "this is what ownership did for my freedom" carries the whole niche.

iv.

Keep the brand portable

You're planning to leave within three years, so build an audience around your perspective, not your zip code. Followers can keep up with you on relocation, real estate, and lifestyle after you move. Start an email list early.

v.

Plan the handoff now

Decide how Colorado clients will be cared for after you leave, including a referral arrangement. Then "I'll still connect you with the right agent" becomes part of the pitch.
